Always verify against your vial and pharmacy label. Concentrations differ between products and batches — a vial reading 5 mg / 0.5 mL is 10 mg/mL, not 5. If your number here doesn't match what your prescriber told you, stop and call your pharmacy.
Counting Zepbound pen clicks
When tirzepatide is dispensed in a click-dosing pen, you set the dose by counting clicks. On standard U-100 pens each click is one unit, so:
clicks = (dose_mg ÷ concentration_mg/mL) × 100
Enter your prescribed dose and the pen's concentration to get the click count — then double-check it matches the instructions that came with your pen.
Frequently asked
- How do I count clicks on a tirzepatide pen?
- Turn the dial and count the audible/tactile clicks up to the number this calculator gives you. On a 1-click-per-unit pen the clicks equal the U-100 units for your dose.
- What if my pen uses 2 units per click?
- Then halve the click count from a 1-unit pen. Always confirm your pen’s click ratio with the pharmacy before dosing — getting it wrong doubles or halves your dose.
