Our review

Medical Express Clinic is a long-established (1984) Harley Street clinic offering a strictly in-person, doctor-led Mounjaro service: a GMC-registered doctor examines patients face-to-face, orders baseline bloods (FBC, kidney and liver function, lipids, HbA1c) and a body composition scan, then structures follow-ups at weeks 4, 8, 12 and 16. This is bundled into a £650 clinical fee, but Mounjaro pens are bought separately from a pharmacy, starting around £200 each, so there is no fixed all-in total upfront. The clinic holds a CQC 'Good' rating and scores 4.4/5 on Trustpilot (40 reviews) and 4.1/5 on Google (205 reviews), though the Trustpilot profile is notably bimodal — 55% five-star against 38% one-star — with older, largely pre-2024 complaints about inaccurate test results, one doctor's professionalism, and an undisclosed consultation fee. No GLP-1-specific complaints were found. Best for patients who want in-person medical oversight and are prepared to pay separately for medication.

How it works

In-person only, doctor-led. No online questionnaire route offered for GLP-1. A GMC-registered doctor examines the patient in person on Harley Street, reviews baseline blood tests (FBC, kidney function, liver function, lipid profile, HbA1c) and a full body composition scan, and only prescribes Mounjaro when clinically appropriate (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition). Same prescribing doctor is used throughout, with structured follow-up reviews at weeks 4, 8, 12 and 16, plus direct access to the doctor between appointments. Clinic open Mon-Fri 09:00-18:00, Sat-Sun 10:00-14:00.

Consultation & fees: £650 'Weight Management Package' clinical fee — covers initial consultation & physical exam with a GLP-1-trained doctor, full body composition scan (BMI, visceral fat, muscle mass), blood panel (FBC, kidney, liver, lipids, HbA1c), and 4 follow-up reviews at weeks 4/8/12/16 plus direct doctor access between visits. This fee explicitly does NOT include the cost of Mounjaro pens (~£200+/pen, paid separately at a pharmacy).

What reviewers say

Praised

  • · Efficient, friendly and professional service with easy appointment booking (frequently cited for occupational/travel medicals and same-day GP access)
  • · Fast turnaround on test results (often same-day or next-day)
  • · Knowledgeable, reassuring staff and phlebotomists

Complained about

  • · A minority of older (2022-2023) reviews describe test results reported as wrong/unreliable
  • · Reports of unprofessional conduct by a specific doctor and lack of privacy during an examination
  • · Complaints about an undisclosed ~£150 consultation fee charged before a requested test could proceed

Things to know

  • Trustpilot rating breakdown is bimodal (55% 5-star vs 38% 1-star out of only 40 reviews), and the company "has no recent history of asking for reviews" per Trustpilot, so the profile may not be representative of current (2024-2026) service quality, including the newer GLP-1 offering
  • No GLP-1-specific complaints or MHRA/GPhC/CQC enforcement actions were found; CQC rating found is "Good"
